New Luxury Car - 2011 Chrysler 300 Specs And Photos
New Chrysler's 300 arrived with a sticker price only, $ 27.995 including $ 825 destination, despite the fact that the base 300 now comes with significantly more powerful 292 horsepower 3.6-liter V6, upgraded cloth seats and 17-inch wheels. Buyers want a little more luxury can increase the level of the Limited trim, which starts at $ 31,995. Limited adds leather, hot seat, UConnect voice commands and 18-inch wheels.

While we wait for the fire-breathing SRT8 model, the 300C will stand as a victim on the line, ruled by the price of $ 38,995. 300C adds 5.7-liter V8, heated steering wheel, power adjustable pedals, power folding mirrors and LED interior lighting. An all-wheel drive version of the 300C is also available for $ 41,145.

300-equipped 5.7-liter is expected to reach 0-60 in 5.4 seconds.
Slick Styling

As is done when the redesigned Audi TT, Chrysler faces tough challenge to recreate the icon when I went to the drawing board for 300 the next. New 300 has a shape similar to its predecessor, but it looks more elegant. In front, Chrysler's move to the grille of a new company, the first advance on the concept of Imperial and the last, EV 200C concept shown at the Detroit auto show, 2009. The thin horizontal chrome bar leaner than eggcrate worn by a car today, and they provide approximately 300 new street, box-shaped barge visible. Headlight clusters are the squared and smoothed, while the front bumper is much more integrated, tighten the chin.

300 again will display the fender flares, but the bottom of the arch is much less prominent. Upper body folds create a soft shoulders curved in a straight line and sharply from the current model, and the new 300 also lost print side, giving more definition crease above. Expect visibility to be improved despite the slim A-pillars, glass over, and the much smaller C-pillar is created through the use of small A-frame window on the rear.

Although there is no rear sight, hoping to see a significant change from the current car. We anticipate the back of the net future will mimic the style of the car, better integrate the exhaust tips under a mosquito net. LED taillight is almost a certainty.
Interior Improvement

With the new Dodge Ram Chrysler shows new interest in interior quality, we expect the new 300 to use the same ingredients well. Sticking with the theme of the exterior clean, new cabin which will appear simple and smooth. The instrument panel houses two large circular gauges, similar to that in the Ram-while operating a large-screen infotainment system Chrysler's UConnect top of the center console. The climate controls below the screen.

Powertrains and Other Features

Hemi fans can relax, as the V-8 featuring cylinder deactivation will carry over from the existing model, and should boast both increased power and fuel economy. Chrysler said the new 300 will also be available with all-new "fuel-efficient" line six-cylinder-engine company has been promising the possibility of Phoenix, which we think will produce at least 260 hp. new security features will include behind the cross-paths and blind-spot monitoring system. Most, if not all, these features will probably also carry over to the redesigned 2011 Dodge Charger.

No word yet on when the new 300 will be officially revealed, but you can expect to see next and Dodge Charger to many dealers in 2010.

New Toyota RAV4 Reviews - moreluxurycar.blogspot.com

New Toyota RAV4 Reviews - moreluxurycar.blogspot.com
While Toyota's reputation for quality, reliability and assaulted in the past two years due to many of the very little, and dissemination to a large extent of all its products in North America have an excellent reputation for durability, quality and reliability. And therefore still appeal to a wide audience and interested parties. And the RAV4 is no exception.

Widely used for the redesign of model year 2006, it has the look more mature and stretching the wheelbase 6.7 inches, making more than 20 percent increase in passenger and cargo space. Has seen more of the update engine 2009 adoption of larger, more powerful 179 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder (166 hp replacement 2.4), quirks equipment and a mild facelift. For 2011, and trademark CUV small, and the time is still mainly in the base (from $ 21,925), Sport ($ 23,625) and Limited ($ 24.915) to reduce levels, with a choice of front or engine 4WD, four-cylinder, engines V6.

Home to the central market
From those used to describe any Toyota product in the past decade, ruff the current atmosphere of intimacy. Is put together well with a good fit and finish and accurate to some extent fit the team and paint largely free from orange peel - something to continue to spread in a number of automotive competition.

RAV4 Limited models feature unique front grille, deeper and a distinctive look and a little more aggressive. Doors close with a decent sounding "slapping" but what we can not understand is why the depth stop is open to the right. There is nothing wrong if you live in somewhere like Australia, Japan or the United Kingdom, but here it is quite difficult. We had been there several times when it was parked in the streets of a city, to go out in the blood circulation and open thing - watch out for in the mirror if I were struck by a passing car. Given that the market Toyota car for young families, a potential security risk, especially if more than 74 percent of drivers in the world on the right side of the road.

The highest quality interior, but not standard equipment
In terms of comfort, decor and comfort, and dozens of RAV4 is very high. It is roomier than the current containment Honda CR-V and the end, and is still above most of the competition, including the will of the Chevy Equinox and Terrain GMC. Thanks Optitron M, dashboard readable and very easy to read (for day and night), and control stems strong and easy to use, plus all the center console is large and functional in hand.

Front seats, Toyota model, including enough and wide, comfortable and not with the front / back support and lower back. However, compared with some competitors, the cabin looks a little austere. RAVs base and reduce the level of sport comes with a primitive sound system and the absence of such features as leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a standard cargo cover, and the second row of air-conditioning and satellite radio - now standard items on many of the competitors. You can use these functions on the role of women in development, but you have to switch to the Limited (which adds $ 1300) or new for 2011 is a package price of the upgrade system includes six audio CDs with XM Radio, control audio controls Steering 0.17 wheels inches, daytime running lights, and Sunroof, and cargo cover interior and higher quality fabric.

Passenger second row, and seat comfort is decent and stretching area. Helped by the roofline box to somewhat more than 38 inches to remove the head of the row and the second legs nearly 39 inches, making it two adults plus 6 - foot to sit in the quality of comfort - there is enough space for three children. The second row can be stored in the form of a comfortable 60/40 provides the amount of cargo space and we welcome the additional access to the third row - which is rare in this part. Best reserved for the latter Tutes few, but the rise again is generous of some other cars in the class, and when not in use, the third row folds into a hole in the ground, and create a completely flat load floor.

Hot Rod, but the fuel behind the V6
On the road, and a reasonably comfortable ride quality is not ruff. 2.5-liter four-cylinder (179 horsepower in the classification and 172 foot pounds), accelerated and very lively, but the four-speed automatic (the only transport available), please feel free to feel. Revised in some cases even the hills with quick maneuvers or a bit frustrating, especially when you consider that necrosis is not up to the maximum 4000 rpm and you have 3400 £ weight to move around.

And V6, however, is the engine of Hot Rod. In the classification of 269 hp and torque of 246 lb / ft, and it seems that the RAV in the sleeper - with the acceleration of a bold and accompanying soundtrack. In fact, rates of acceleration in a Toyota V6 in six-second range! It pulls hard right through the rev range and there is enough power in reserve for just about everything, and on the highway pretty quiet. Automatic five-speed plus it smoother to use than the driver at high speed four on RAVs support four-cylinder - with acceleration transitions and clear, accurate, and also despite the V6 with the torque curve pale Instead, slushbox five-speed conditioning so good.

It has also offered $ 160 package prep pull on the V6, which is the cooling system, heavy and cold and the transfer of generator contains Ruff, attracting up to 3500 kg, making it ideal for pulling small boats or personal watercraft.

As for the fuel consumption of the four-cylinder manages about 22 mpg in the city, 28 - miles per gallon on the highway programs and confrontation 21/27-mpg for 4x4. And the V6 is not far behind not far behind 19/27-mpg (4x2) and 19/26-mpg (4x4).

Comfort-oriented ride
Helped by the relatively long wheelbase, ride quality and comfortable, not too soft and all independent suspension has a job to enjoy the great disadvantages of off-road. Wind noise is noticeable, especially around the base of the windshield at speeds over 65 km / h, and not something one tends to expect from Toyota.

Dealing with the unexpected to some extent, but at higher speeds when cornering or changes during the fast lane, and there is significant body roll and forward on the steering wheel - something we do not normally expect from Toyota. The weakest link frames - the basic models 215/70/16s be installed only to provide enough grip on slippery roads, and under load, even with the latest limited-slip differential, and examples of traction on the front wheels can be difficult sometimes.

4WD versions provide the best grip, but the maximum for a contact with the best way to switch to larger wheels and tires. Toyota does not offer a wider 225/65 / 17 tires on models V6 (good conversation in the light of the power of this engine running), while Sporting are equipped with 235/55/18s which looks very effective and does a good job to improve the torque of a larger engine - or in a straight line or through the corners.

Ruff's priorities are still biased much asphalt. While you can project a little off the beaten path and a great system if you live in snow belt, and the lack of low range means that traction can be difficult, and best left to the real raw stuff from other more specialized equipment.

Steering Committee offers a decent through the highway in the middle of the city, but in a sharp change in direction or speed of acquisition-bit spongy feel at low speeds, but it's relatively light touch and RAVs impressive turning circle makes parking a child of the city. Toyota offers Descent Control and Hill Start assist function helps to keep the car on the hills. It is especially useful in an urban area with steep slopes (think San Francisco), allowing you to focus more on maneuvering in the ruff, particularly in sites crowded with pedestrians and parked cars.

Award
Although by no means chicken from SUVs built, and despite renewed for the year 2009, the RAV4 still manages to provide a strong group, with good interior space and performance for powertrain surprising in V6). Optional third row is also a bonus.

While the group of solid, there are two big downsides in the Ruff, a fuel and price. In this section are hotly contested, and there are the latest competitors that the largest amount of standard equipment to protect the less money.

Used Volkswagen CrossGolf Reviews
Used Volkswagen CrossGolf Reviews
Volkswagen has now taken a new CrossGolf blanket, which is also scheduled to make its world debut next week at the Geneva Motor Show 2010. In addition to bringing the latest Golf model family to the sixth count, the range now includes the standard Golf, longer wheelbase Golf Plus, Golf Variant wagon and the sporty Golf GTI and the new Golf R.

Placed between an MPV and an SUV, the new CrossGolf will be offered with both direct-injection turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, with the output reaching up to 160 horsepower. All engine variants will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox and with the exception of the 105 horsepower TSI, all units can also be mated to an optional 7-speed DSG.

Like all the new Volkswagen models that have been released recently, the CrossGolf is defined by the horizontally-aligned band of the radiator grille between the headlights, which is reflected to the horizontal form of the front bumper. The interior gets sport seats (front) with two-tone fabric covers and a "small leather package" with a three-spoke steering wheel, gearshift lever trim and grip-in leather.

As CrossPolo, new CrossGolf is basically a five-door hatchback with a raised ride height and rugged all terrain look. However, not based on a standard Golf but the Golf Plus a little bigger

Compact turbocharged engine lineup consists of gasoline and diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 105 horsepower in the base model with 160 horsepower in the range-top. A six-speed manual as standard but customers came to choose Volkswagen's brilliant seven-speed DSG dual clutch transmission.

Key design elements include unique bumpers, finished in anthracite color and equipped with fog lights and a larger reception. Move to the side, which also got CrossGolf black wheelarch extensions, new side sills, silver side mirrors and 17-inch alloy wheels. Options include leather trim, headlights bi-xenon, a glass camera and Volkswagen nifty Park Assist feature.

In initial markets, the new CrossGolf will already be available for purchase in April. Buyers of the cleverly designed five-door will be able to enjoy a new generation of engines that offer huge fuel economy advantages. These engines are exclusively direct-injection turbocharged petrol (TSI) and diesel (common rail TDI) engines. They are as agile as they are economical.

This is illustrated by the example of the Golf Cross 1.4 TSI with 118 kW / 160 PS: The (from 1,500 rpm) 240 Newton-metre strong turbo- and supercharged petrol engine (Twincharger) enables a top speed of 207 km/h, but when shifted by a 6-speed gearbox it has a combined fuel consumption of just 6.8 litres of fuel (equivalent to 159 g/km CO2). Even compared to the 20 PS weaker TSI of the first generation car, it shows a fuel consumption advantage of 0.5 litres. As an alternative the TSI is available with an optional 7-speed DSG; in this case too fuel consumption is 6.8 litres. Other available TSI engines are the variants with 77 kW / 105 PS and 90 kW / 122 PS.

As would be expected, the new common rail TDIs of the CrossGolf are extremely fuel-efficient. They have power outputs of 77 kW / 105 PS (1.6 litre) and 103 kW / 140 PS (2.0 litre) and are paired with a standard diesel particulate filter. For example, the 140-PS TSI, shifted by a 6-speed gearbox, consumes just 5.3 litres of fuel (138 g/km CO2). The torque of this engine already reaches the impressive maximum value of 320 Newton-metres from 1,750 rpm.

Currently there are no plans to bring a new Volkswagen CrossGolf to the U.S. but we will likely see the version of the Golf Variant wagon used to make the road to the local showroom last.

2012 Cadillac Converj Concept

Combining a sexy fastback-coupe design with GM's Voltec electric propulsion system that is similar to the one found in the Chevy Volt, the Cadillac Converj concept made its debut today in Detroit. The four-passenger Converj concept is equipped with 16-kWh, T-shaped battery pack with more than 220 lithium-ion cells, an electric drive unit, and a four-cylinder engine-generator, using electricity as its primary power source. Just like the Volt, when the battery's energy is low, electricity needed to power the vehicle is created on-board by a flex-fuel-powered engine that operates much like a home generator to create electricity.
The electric engine powers the front-wheels delivering 273 lb.-ft. (370 Nm) of instant torque, for a quick launch, and 120 kW of power. The Converj's top speed is 100 mph.

Both vehicles are true to the heritage of Jaguar`s legendary performance, delivering a superb balance of dynamic ability and refinement.

The 2010 XF will be priced starting at $52,000 MSRP. The XF Premium, with the new 5.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, will have a base MSRP of $57,000. The new AJ-V8 GEN III direct-injection 5.0-liter engines are the most advanced engines Jaguar has ever produced, each offering significant increases in performance and impressive fuel economy. Both deliver more torque and power than the previous generation of engines.

2010 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss Edition

Now that the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren will cease production in May, the company is crowning the exclusive model line with one final variant to outdo all the others. Considering how special the SLR McLaren already is, it couldn’t have been easy coming up with the end-all-be-all SLR for the history books.
Well, Mercedes seems to have done it with the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss edition.
The company created a car so arcane that only the most extreme car enthusiasts would ever see the point of it, let alone want to pay 750,000 euros (about $1.02 million at current exchange rates). Not that they would even get the chance: Only current SLR McLaren owners will be considered for the privilege of buying one of the 75 being built. None will be sold in the United States.
The new SLR is a rolling homage to Mercedes’ racing heritage. It’s named in honor of legendary British racer Stirling Moss, who in 1955 set a speed record by driving an equally legendary Mercedes 300 SLR to victory in the Italian Mille Miglia, a thousand-mile cross-country race so grueling and dangerous that it was banned after a fatal crash in 1957 that killed two participants and 11 spectators.
Like the 1955 Mercedes 300 SLR race car, the new SLR Stirling Moss doesn’t have a roof or windows. Minuscule “wind screens” in front of the driver and passenger are designed to divert wind over occupants’ heads, although they’re probably not nearly as effective as a full windshield when driving the car at its top speed of 217.5 mph.

2009 Panamera to spawn GT Coupe in 2010

German sports car maker Porsche currently is on such a high that it is difficult even for the professional spy photographer, not to mention the enthusiast car nut to keep track with all the product development that takes place. Currently out and about are:
(1) Prototypes for the facelift of the first generation Cayenne (to debut later this year), simultaneously with (2), the first test mules for the all-new second generation of the Cayenne (a further three years away), (3) prototypes for the facelift of the current 997 series Carrera (to debut exactly three years after the introduction of the first 997), and (4) first test mules for the Panamera, which is Porsche’s all-new fourth model line, a front-engined four door four-seat sports saloon. These test mules hide their new platform and running gear under an inconspicuous BMW 5-series and Audi A8 skin. Knowing Porsche’s development scheme, the debut of the Panamera is quite exactly three years away from now and hence, should take place in the second half of 2009. (5) Eagerly awaited, but not yet seen in the flesh, is the successor for the outphased limited-edition Carrera GT, which may break cover at any moment now. Also not seen just yet, but due in around two year’s time from now on, are the facelifted versions of the current editions of the Boxster (6) and the Cayman (7), plus various uprated sports versions of these models (8).

2005 Pagani Zonda F
The Pagani Zonda F is a custom built car made primarily of carbon fiber, of aluminum alloys, titanium, avional, chrome-molybdenum alloy and selected leathers. Some of these materials are transformed using the most advanced technologies, others, by the best craftsmen.

The idea has been to create a car that was light, safe, original yet offering great performance, using the best technology available and inspired by racing cars, the same concept that inspired the creation of the fantastic Miura of the '60's.

Fangio wanted it to be equipped with a Mercedes-Benz engine and his wish has become reality thanks to AMG who have provided Pagani with their 12 cylinder engine; A lightweight motor, with over 600 bhp and 576 lb-ft of torque.

Pagani checks the quality of each individual piece and collects the technical data to form a manual; one for each car, creating a detailed and faithful representation, much the same as an artist's portrait. Only in aviation does this happen today.

Aerodynamics

When it starts moving, the Zonda F slices through the air with hardly any effort. Some of its power is used to force the car down onto the tarmac resulting in a very strong ground effect, so that the tires are glued to the road, transferring all the car's power and torque to it.

According to a simple equation the grip is a result of the material's friction coefficient times the applied force. This principle can then be turned into top rate performance if the tire size and the vehicle speed are record breaking.

Aerodynamics however are even more crucial where safety is concerned: when breaking for an emergency, when reaction times are even more critical and when road holding can make all the difference.

BMW M6 Competition Package 2009

The M6 came out aeons ago (well, 2005), so BMW has seen fit to give it a refresh with the optional Competition Package, a collection of enhancements that ups the M6’s £83,700 sticker price by £2135. For that you get uprated suspension that’s 12mm lower at the front and 10mm lower at the rear. There are also more lenient stability control and ABS settings (ie the electronics will wait a little longer before jumping in to save your bacon), a gorgeous new bonnet complete with clamshell-like central strakes, a fresh twist on the brilliant M differential and 19-inch alloys that look the same but are half an inch wider.

Can you tell the difference between this Competition Package-equipped BMW M6 and any other?

Yes and no. We couldn’t pluck up the courage to do 100mph powerslides on our local slip roads, so the benefits of the revised differential elude us. Track time with the standard car does leave us a little confused, however – the regular M diff offers up to 100 percent lock-up and works brilliantly. What’s more, the handling nuances of the half-inch wider Pirelli rubber was also lost on us. But the competition pack is categorically not a waste of time.

Subaru Impreza 330S

We’d pretty much given up on extracting any pleasure from the new Impreza. Then we drove the new 330S and – shock, horror – it’s very good indeed. Even more surprising, the differences between the 330S and the WRX STI aren’t particularly striking.

And the differences between the Subaru Impreza STI and 330S are...

The 330S begins life in Japan as the WRX STI. The factory then adds 18-inch five-spoke alloys, Alcantara/leather Recaros, keyless go and DVD sat-nav. UK cars, however, are a little more gifted, being fitted with the Prodrive Performance Kit once they land in Blighty. This boosts power from 300bhp to 325bhp and torque from 311lb ft to 347lb ft courtesy of engine management tweaks, freer-flowing intercooler piping, performance-friendly catalytic converters and chunky-looking quad exhausts.

So you’re saying you like it?

Love it. Particularly revealing was the fact that I drove the 330S back-to-back with my longterm Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-360. The Subaru has a nicer, slicker gear change with a sixth gear (the Evo’s manual gets just the five speeds and is far less tactile); the ride is better if still understandably firm; the steering is more progressive and less hyperactive immediately off-centre than the edgy Evo; and the engine is a whole lot better.

Mercedes E350 CGI 2009

Overlook worldwide recession and the automotive market place is primed for the launch of Mercedes’ new E-class. BMW’s 5-series feels old and outdated while Audi’s A6, despite (or perhaps because of) a minor facelift late last year, doesn’t feel particularly new either. So it’s an open net for Mercedes then, but has the new E-class got the skills to slot home the winner? All the ingredients look good – the C-class shows Merc is back on form and the new E-class promises more of what the current car does well (cavernous interior space, a smooth ride and lots of safety gear), while also chasing down the 5-series for driver involvement and the A6 for its fit and finish. Read on for our full first drive to see whether the new Mercedes E-class delivers.

What’s this CGI nonsense on the new Mercedes E-class all about?

Not computer generated imagery, that’s for sure. CGI is Merc-speak for the direct-injection system on its petrol engines. And alongside the CGI technology, all E-classes are BlueEfficiency-equipped, the Swabians' term for its eco-friendly tweaks that include low rolling resistance tyres, active aerodynamics and energy-saving control of the fuel-pump, alternator and air conditioning system.

Mazda RX-8 R3

The Mazda RX-8 has offered coupe buyers something unique since going on sale in 2003. It is alone in offering a rotary engine – a powerplant which punches well above its weight for such a small unit – and rear-opening 'suicide doors'.
And combined with four useable seats, its not surprising British buyers have taken the RX-8 to their hearts.
The R3 is the facelifted model of the original car, which sees the low power, 192bhp engine dropped and a freshened-up face.
Time hasn't dulled the impact the Mazda RX-8 makes. Its concept car looks and rear-opening doors are certain to make an impact wherever it does. The R3 version sees a re-designed, tarmac-hugging front bumper which features larger grilles and intakes and a pair of foglights help enhance the aggressive edge. The rear sees LED lights and a new rear bumper, while the sides receive new skirts and restyled 19-inch alloy wheels. The triangular theme – which echoes the shape of the rotors in the engine – is carried over, with them appearing on the bonnet and rear fog light.ime hasn't dulled the impact the Mazda RX-8 make

Honda Hybrid Cars 2009

Modern buyers and car owners are getting brighter through the years. That is because there are lots of car models and car makes out in car market today.Every car brand and car model is shooting to get to the highest level of support and patronage that would sustain for a very profitable and profitable revenues and sales not just currently but also in the future.
Car buyers have become more and more demanding as years goes by. Hybrid car buyers expect car makers to address the concerns and issues they raise against the current cars they own.
Car buyers anticipate upcoming new car models to eliminate the unlikely traits and restrictions of the current car types.
It is in this manner that hybrid cars came to become the most interesting and most wanted cars of the next generation.
Giant car makers Toyota, Ford, General Motors and Honda have all at the same time embarked on a tight and pressuring race to become the best hybrid car manufacturer and distributor.
Honda cars
Out of scrap, Japans Honda has been highly productive in building their niche in the global car business. Two decades ago, Honda was nothing. It was an unknown Japanese car maker that seemed to hang around on its prototype cars.
As the years have gone by, Honda emerged hard to win the battle. Its perseverance has paid greatly, and now, it is competing head on against fellow Japanese car manufacturer Toyota in the worldwide number one spot for car producers.
In the United States alone, gross revenue of Honda hybrid cars have been constantly been on the climb in the past few years, and rivals , particularly the local based Ford and General Motors, are starting to feel the grind in their individual gross revenue.
Honda has become areal threat to other car manufacturers. There are more than enough reasons for that.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

It has 638 hp. Enough said. This is a no-excuses domestic exotic. Sure, it's pricey, but consider: The ZR1's power-to-weight ratio is better than that of a $270,000 Ferrari 599 GTB. It'll do a quarter-mile in close to 11 seconds flat and easily clear 200 mph. Whoa. Ramping the power to over 600 required the use of Eaton's new quieter, more efficient supercharger. Throttle response is instantaneous, and it's all too easy to melt those Michelins. The ZR1's capabilities are monumental, but easily approachable if you're a little brave—or very foolish. Aside from eyeball-watering acceleration, the carbon-ceramic brakes are so good, we couldn't hammer them hard enough to activate the ABS. There seems to be no limit to how far you can get into the corners while still on the gas. The other takeaway is the willingness of this chassis to turn, grip and decelerate at the same time. And much of that grace comes from the latest version of the magnetorheological (MR) shock absorbers that adjust quickly to provide optimum damping. But the car's polish is what's most amazing. The ZR1 is the performance champ of 2009.

2009 Lamborghini Murcielago

he 2009 Lamborghini Murcielago ranks 1 out of 7 This ranking is based on our analysis of 7 published reviews and test drives of the Lamborghini Murcielago, and our analysis of reliability and safety data. The Lamborghini Murcielago flies like a bat out of hell. While other supercars may offer more comfortable accommodations, few can match its lustful design and superior performance dynamics.
Introduced in 2001, the Murcielago LP640 is the successor to Lamborghini's much celebrated Diablo. It is named for a legendary nineteenth-century Spanish bull that withstood an unprecedented 24 thrusts of a matador's sword. True to its namesake, the Murcielago combines a muscular and aggressive design with knock'em dead performance capabilities. "Snake-belly low and reverse-cowgirl sexy, this car ... is the most heinously irresponsible, developmentally arrested, awesomely cool sports car the world has ever known," writes the Los Angeles Times. "This $405,000 hypercar is, in short, a great big booger flicked in the face of respectability." Indeed, the Murcielago's 631-horsepower V12 engine wasn't engineered for the faint of heart.
If you're in the market for an exotic supercar, be sure to add the Ferrari F430 to your short list. While the Murcielago is more aggressively styled, the F430's Formula 1 inspired race technology makes it hard to ignore -- especially the high-powered Scuderia trim. For even greater sports performance, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti makes a great choice. However, its subdued styling cues may not appeal to drivers seeking to flaunt their vehicle's wild abilities.

McLaren F1

The McLaren F1 is probably the most exotic of the exotics, and definitely one of the best looking. Contrary to popular belief, it does not have the top speed of the street legal production cars, sinc the Vector Avtech takes that honor at 249 MPH. However, with an incredible 0-60 time of just 3.4 seconds, it's definitely one of the fastest off the line. There are only a handful of these made each year, which is just as well, since with a price tag of $1,000,000 only a few people in the world can afford it. Currently there are only 7 in the U.S., and Ralph Lauren owns two of them, one of which he is selling. Anyone buyers? Another one is owned by a visitor name Justin and his father, who is an avid collector of exotics and classics, who I would love to becomes friends with! Can I have a ride? :) The most incredible stat about the McLaren F1 is that it accelerates from 0-150 mph in 12.8 seconds, or just slightly longer than the 911 takes to reach 100 mph! The F1 LM, or the Le Mans version, is the racing version of this fine automobile. According to a visitor name Chris, only 5 of these beauties were ever built, and all of them have already been bought, even with a price tag of well over $1M! The year F1 debuted it won every race it entered except for one (again, thanks to Chris for this info). The car is made of all carbon fibers and the door swing up and out, similar to the Lamborghini Countach. Definitely the crown jewel of any collection.

2010 Ford Escape Hybrid with New Safety Features

Ford recently unveiled its new 2010 Ford Escape and the 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid. Ford has added five new safety features in its 2010 Ford Escape models. The new safety features are MyKey, Rear View Camera System, Integrated Spotter Mirrors and Active Park Assist.
Ford will be trying to add these safety features on all its future models which are due for a redesign or also on vehicles which are going to have even minor updates.
Ford Escape is going to be the 1st SUV to be fitted with automated parking system. Lexus and Toyota do have similar features but this system will have more advantages for Ford Escape models due to the fact that SUV have less visibility.
Will it affect the pricing of the 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid models is not known. 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid is priced at $30,370 which includes $725 destination charges
Other then the safety features, 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid will not have much change. 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid will use 153hp 2.5L Atkinson Cycle I-4 and is going come in four-wheel-drive.

2008 Cadillac CTS at 2007 North American International Auto Show - Detroit

Surely the hottest baby in the town, the new and improved 2008 Cadillac CTS has lived up to its hype and proved itself as the best and world class once again. Cadillac new entry level sedan is nothing less then a dream machine. 2008 Cadillac CTS has been thoroughly worked from its tip to toe.
The car’s major change is in the form of optional direct-injection version of 2008 Cadillac CTS new 6-speed automatic engine which runs on gasoline and produces 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The car will also be available on demand, all wheel drive with the 258 hp 3.6 lt automatic combos.
The track for 2008 Cadillac CTS has grown by 2 inches which has pushed the wheels outward for posed stance. The overall width has increased by 2 inches and length by 1.5 inches. The other exterior enhancements include LED ancillary lighting elements, faster rear window, sculpted flanks and big size egg crate grille.
The interiors of CTS is no less then the exteriors. Hand crafted interior fittings, new dash, steering wheel, instrument cluster and increased rear seat legroom.
The new CTS will for sure play the role of big brother and give a stiff competition to BMW 3 Series, Acura TL, Audi A4 and others in the entry level premium sports sedan market.

2008 Dodge Viper - The powerful Reptile

A grand big center stage car from Chrysler Group i.e 2008 Dodge Viper, 600-horsepower,
8.4-liter V10 engine with 560 lbs of torque will make other models like 500-horsepower Corvette ZO6 and 500-horsepower BMW M6 search for corners. Ohhh, how 500 horsepower seems child’s play now.. Chrysler primarily focused on the Dodge brand in the final press conference at 2007 North American International Auto Show at Detroit and as expected their highlight was on official curtain raiser for the 2008 Dodge Viper.
2008 Dodge Viper would zoom from 0-60mph in just under 4 seconds and 0-100-0mph in 12 seconds. Now, that is impressive. The problem for the car is that it is outrageously powerful and not just powerful. Once you zoom on the road with the new Viper expect the world to follow behind you, i.e the power of 600 hp. Now it is going to be interesting war of horsepower and more auto rockets could be seen in near future.
The increased horsepower comes from extra 0.1 liter of displacement, new cylinder heads and variable valve timing. The other prominent cosmetic change include new and improved hood that has a larger scoop for air intake and louvers thus improving engine cooling. 5 body colors will be added in 2008 Viper which will take the total color count to 8. The interior styles are going to be wide with 5 interior color combinations and a choice of bezel and center console finishes.

2008 Altima Coupe Nissan

2008 Nissan Altima Coupe, the all new 2 door coupe version for the present 2007 Altima sedan will be the first 2 door Altima and does not look like a sedan on which it is based. Introduced in Los Angeles Auto Show in November, the best selling vehicle from Nissan is going to solidify its position further. The sedan based 2 door version will catch the fancy of its riders with its perfect magnetic styling, height that is lower the sedan, shorter wheelbase and overall shorter length.
The XM Real-time traffic reporting, push-button starter the standard “Intelligent Key”, nine-speaker Bose audio, touch screen navigation system, Bluetooth phone connectivity are some of the features of 2008 Altima Coupe Nissan for its gizmos friendly riders. Get ready to be tumbled upon by the great things it has in store beneath its sheet metal body too. The choice of 3.5-liter 270-hp, 258-lb-ft, V-6 engines coupled to either 6 speed manual or CVT transmissions and a 175-hp, 180 lb-ft, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is going to woo its users.
The highly praised “D” platform based vehicle is optimized to give a sporty feel with great handling and responsiveness which is provided by its Xtronic CVT transmission. The Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage front supplemental air bags, front seat side impact supplemental air bags for chest protection and roof-mounted curtain side impact air bags for front and rear outboard occupant head protection and Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones are some of its over the top safety features.
According to Bill Bosley, vice president/general manager, Nissan, “Rather than just eliminating two doors from the Altima Sedan, we gave the Altima Coupe its own style, its own dimensions and its own interpretation of Nissan’s exhilarating driving pleasure”.
2007 Nissan Altima Sedan, 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe and now what…. What about a convertible??

2008 Infinity G37 Coupe

2008 Coupe G35: The 2008 Infinity G35 Coupe concept first appeared at the 2006 North American Internal Auto Show, where it gathered plenty of adoring stares. The car is now going into production, but is now called the G37. You know what that means - an increase in displacement and power from the V6 engine. That means 330 horsepower and 270 ft-lb of torque from the new 3.7 liter VQ-Series V6.
The engine has the same 95.5mm bore, but gets a longer stroke of 86.0mm (up 4.6mm) and a higher compression ratio of 11.0:1 as opposed to 10.6:1. Infinity says roughly 35 percent of the engine’s parts are new. The engine also uses Infinity’s VVEL system, which adjusts both valve timing and lift, boosting torque across the rev range. The system acts very much like BMW’s Valvetronic, using valve timing and lift to adjust the amount of air entering the engine rather than a throttle butterfly.
Expect to see this engine in more Infinity products, most notably the next generation 350Z and the FX SUV. There’s also the possibility that this is the engine that sits under the Nissan GT-Rs hood, along with a couple of turbochargers.
Anyway, back to the G37, which Infinity claims does 0-60 in less than 5.5 seconds.
The 2008 Infinity G37 has, in addition to the new engine, new front suspension, updated styling inside and out and it’s slightly longer, by about one inch. The width and height have hardly changed, only 0.2 and 0.1 inches respectively.
The new front suspension is still double wishbone, but instead of a double ball joint in the lower arm there’s a single ball joint to reduce steering kickback.
The front grille now carries Infinity’s logo, the head and tail lights are L Shaped and there’s a rear spoiler.
You can have your G37 in either five speed automatic flavour, with the addition of shift paddles behind the steering wheel, or a six speed manual gearbox.
The chassis of the G37 is Nissan’s revised Front Midship platform, which Infinity claims has a 36 percent increase in ridgy over the old G35.
Four wheel active steering - available as an option - will adjust the rear wheels up to one degree, taking instructions from various sensors around the car. Sports suspension is also available as an option, with stiffer springs, harder dampers and bigger swaybars. You also get a viscous limited slip differential as part of the package.
Inside the G37 there’s plenty of carry over from the G35, with seats, shift lever and steering wheel all looking identical to those in the G35. There’s plenty of aluminum trim, and the instrument panel still moves up and down with the steering wheel. The new paddles behind the steering wheel are mounted to the column so they don’t move with the wheel.

2008 Dodge Avenger

You wouldn’t pick it looking at the Dodge Avenger, but the car is actually based on the same D-segment platform as the Chrysler Sebring. That’s because of the very Dodge Charger-like styling. The Avenger isn’t as big as the Charger of course, but it fits in well within the aggressively styled Dodge range. Indeed Chrysler product czar Larry Lyons says the Avenger, “completes the Dodge passenger car line-up.” Until now, Dodge has depended on its truck models, but the changes in buyer trends and higher fuel prices mean that Dodge now needs to concentrate on the smaller end of the market.
Dodge also needs to concentrate on markets outside the US and the stylist of the car, Ryan Nagode, has admitted that because the car was intended to sell in Europe it had to stand out as being very ‘American’, and not going into European markets as another boring looking car. Nagode also admits that the front of the Avenger was strongly influenced by his own sunglasses, while the corners of the car were inspired by boxing gloves, to look as if they are protective surfaces for the Avenger.
Like the Sebring the 2008 Avenger Dodge is front wheel drive, allowing an entry level price of $19,020 for the 2.4 liter 173 horsepower four cylinder engine. Helping that low price is the fact that the SE doesn’t even have ABS brakes, which is a surprise these days. The next model in the range - the SXT - gets a 2.7 liter 189 horsepower V6 engine. Topping the range is the R/T edition, which gets 235 horsepower 3.5 liter V6, darkened headlight surrounds, and a two tone interior. There’s also a four wheel drive version of the R/T if you want extra traction from your Avenger.

2008 Audi A5 Compact Coupe

The success of the Mercedes CLS coupe has proven that there is a market for big coupes and Audi is joining the party with the 2008 Audi A5 Compact Coupe. The A5 is intended to sit between the A4 and A6 sedans, and is the first full size coupe since the Audi 100. There is a 236 Horsepower 3.0 litre TDi V6 model, as well as a 261 horsepower 3.2 litre FSI V6. The V6 gains what Audi calls Valve lift, which allows the intake valves to lift to two different positions to provide better torque characteristics across the rev range. There is a six speed manual gearbox available in the A5, as well as the continuously variable transmission used in the A4, which in the A5 has a manual mode with eight speeds.
The 2008 Audi A5 Compact Coupe is not based on the A4 platform, but is instead a new platform the A4 will adopt in its own next generation, and will be used in other Audi’s with longitudinal engines. The new platform houses the engine further back within the wheelbase, making for a better weight distribution than all current big Audi’s, which have engines hung out over the front axle.
The front suspension is now a five link set up with upper and lower wishbones, while the rear trapezoidal link suspension has entirely new kinematics that Audi claims combines good ride with agile handling.
Inside, the cabin is pretty much standard Audi design, apart from the MMI control, which has been relocated higher on the centre console for a more ergonomic position.
The S5, like all ‘S’ models in the Audi range, has quattro all wheel drive, and it is powered by a 348 horsepower 4.2 litre V8 engine. Audi claims the car will sprint from rest to 100km/h in 5.1 seconds. As with all recent performance versions of Audi’s the S5’s quattro all wheel drive system has a normal torque split of 40 percent front, 60 percent rear, to eliminate the power understeer that plagued earlier quattro models.

Toyota FT-HS hybrid sports concept car at 2007 NAIAS

Toyota is all set to showcase its FT-HS hybrid sports concept car at the 2007 North American International Auto Show. Two other Toyota’s research groups are behind these sports cars which are based in Newport Beach, California (CALTY, Toyota’s North American-based, research and design centre) and California based Advanced Product Strategy Group.
According to Kevin Hunter, vice president, CALTY Design Research, “Drivers today are not satisfied with cars that are simply fast”.
Toyota famous for its hybrid cars is leaving no stone unturned and trying to enter into all car segments with its advanced hybrid technology. FT-HS hybrid sports car will be different from Toyota’s other hybrid cars in its high output power train for powerful acceleration and optimal performance. Other then the sports car essentials like speed and acceleration, the car will also have a sleek profile lightweight and aerodynamic shape.
Sleek, high acceleration, ultra low emissions, great fuel efficiency, driving fun, aerodynamic shape, eco-friendly - did you wanted more out of your next sports car?
This car is going to be a sure hit with environmental friendly people and will eye for mostly young buyers.
If you thought Toyota will compromise with its power train then look at this data - The car is projected to have 0-62 mph acceleration in less than 4 seconds. FT-HS hybrid sports car will be fitted with V6, 3.5L-engine which will have a power output of 400 HP.

2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid

A few years ago, Mercedes Benz stopped playing around, and jumped into building hybrids . . . sort of. The 2010 Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid is the forerunner of a new line of hybrid models Mercedes-Benz will be coming out with in the near future. Wisely, Mercedes Benz designed the hybrid system in a series of modules, which will make it adaptable to a wide range of individual models.
Talk of the 2010 S400 Hybrid is apparently already making a big splash in Europe, but most American reviewers seem under-whelmed. Unfortunately, from the American perspective, the Mercedes-Benz hybrid system is a mild hybrid that provides some improvement over standard models, but simply doesn’t offer the diverse power options we’ve come to expect in a hybrid. The European market has seen far more pure electric cars then we have in America, but not quite as much in the way of hybrids, so perhaps what’s old hat to us, is a surprise for them.
As potentially disappointing as the mild hybrid system is, in all other ways the S400 delivers impressively, including some surprising improvements in hybrid application. Mercedes-Benz has managed to integrate the two separate power systems in a way that allows a totally smooth feel other hybrids can only dream of. They have also created new battery technology that has such benefits as: keeping the battery cool, so it is always functioning at peak efficiency, a faster charge process, and increased electrical efficiency. (We’re told between the drive train and battery, Mercedes-Benz has around 45 new patents riding in the S400.) The battery is also significantly more compact then the typical hybrid battery, allowing it to be fit in under the hood, rather then taking up trunk space, and current hybrid batteries do.
Of course, as we would expect of Mercedes-Benz, this car is built for the open road, and lives up the classic look and feel of the S-class in every way. In addition, the hybrid design allows ultra-quick response and smooth, power conserving delivery in stop and go situations (whether downtown traffic lights, or rush hour commuting).
In fact, the only real complaint I’ve seen from those lucky enough to get a chance to drive the S400 Hybrid, is that Mercedes-Benz did not manage to duplicate the smooth system integration of the power train in the braking system. The transition from mechanical braking to regenerative braking has been described as having an ‘unnatural’ feel.
Still, for a first hybrid the 2010 S400 is highly impressive, and even it isn’t the hybrid some people were hoping for, it is certainly a quintessential Mercedes Benz.

2010 Honda Fit Hybrid

2006, an unnamed source at Honda said plans were in place to make a hybrid version of the Fit (the Jazz, if you live anywhere other then America). The president and CEO of Honda, Takeo Fukui, rather emphatically stated that no such plans were in the works. The theory apparently was that the Fit was already so fuel efficient (27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway) that the added expense of a hybrid would not be worth the improvement in an already impressive gas-mileage. Then, crude oil prices went through the roof. In a, perhaps not surprising, turn around, Fukui announced earlier this year that a hybrid version of the Fit would be available in late 2009, as a 2010 model.
The hybrid will apparently be offered on the 2009 Fit platform. The 2009 Fit has already been available to reviewers for test drives, and even with a slightly higher weight (about 44 lbs heavier then previous models) Honda has managed to squeeze out even more fuel efficiency. Stats on the gas mileage of the hybrid version of the Fit are not yet available, but presumably they’ll be correspondingly impressive.
Honda is adapting the existing hybrid technology currently used in the Civic to the Fit, and like the Civic, the Fit will not be using the next generation Li-Ion batteries. Unfortunately, Honda’s hybrid technology is not plug-in compatible, which as plug-in technology becomes more and more important, means the Fit may well be in trouble in a few years.
Since the Fit Hybrid will be based on the 2009 Fit platform, anyone who wants to can check out the 2009 Fit for a small glimpse of the future. The 2009 Fit maintains the roominess and comfort the Fit is known for, including the incredible seats. And, according to reports, the Fit can still comfortably hold four adults, plus luggage. The combination of the Fit’s roominess and comfort, combined with the increased mileage of a hybrid, is expected to give the Toyota Prius a run for its money.

2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid

This past January, Honda CEO Takeo Fukui revealed that a production hybrid based on the CR-Z Concept shown in Tokyo last year is going to be a reality. It currently looks as if the CR-Z will first be released in Europe, with a guesstimated US release date of sometime in 2011. The original CR-X was a lightweight, and small, hatchback that managed to be a fun car, with a small efficient engine. The CR-Z coupe should also be small, fun and efficient, with the addition of Honda’s updated Integrated Motor Assist hybrid, to push the fuel efficiency to the next level.
The design team for the 2011 Honda CRZ Hybrid is based in Europe, where the majority of sales are expected. The CR-Z Hybrid is expected to be an anchor for Honda’s European line. Specifically, Honda’s UK branch is handling design, while engineering and testing are taking place at Offenbach in Germany.
The hybrid system in the CR-Z will be the same one used in the Fit Hybrid, to be released the end of 2009. That includes nickel based batteries, and a lack of plug-in adaptability.
The CR-Z itself is a replacement for the popular CRX which was pulled off the market recently. The concept car for the CR-Z has a similar profile to the CRX, as well as a glass rear. The new design also includes an oversized grill, aggressive wedge shape, and centrally mounted dual exhausts. The LED headlights are a nice touch, as are the electric side mirrors.
For the interior, Honda tried to combine modern high-tech with classic sporty design. The result includes an interesting mesh material on all fabric surfaces, and a lot of LED displays. The whole effect is both futuristic and funky. Unfortunately, I have to wonder if all the fun inside will be a distraction from the road.
Honda has tagged the CR-Z (by the way, that stands for ‘Compact Renaissance - Zero) as “a next-generation lightweight sports car equipped with a Honda petrol-electric hybrid system.”

Toyota Volta Concept Hybrid

Ok, I’ve never been one for sports cars. A minivan or a family sedan has always been more my speed, but the Toyota Volta is something else entirely.
Just the look of it is amazing, and it should be. For the design aspects Toyota partnered with Italdesign-Giugiaro . . . and it certainly lives up to Italdesign’s reputation. The body is low and sleek, with a vaguely futuristic feel to the design, without being techy.
The inside is just as amazing. This concept car is designed to seat three - not the two and one configuration sometimes seen in sports cars, but three seats in a row, each capable of being individually adjusted for leg room and comfort. There is a single, smaller seat in the rear that can fit a child, or infant car seat. Now, as unusual as the 3+1 set up is, the controls are even more unique. The steering wheel and pedals are ‘drive-by-wire’ as Toyota calls it, meaning they can slide across the dash so the Volta can be driven from any of the front seats.
Of course, this is a Toyota hybrid, and Toyota has a reputation to live up to. Which it does, amazingly. The gas motor, set behind the rear axel, powers two electric motors, one per axel. The combination results in 408 horsepower, and 0-60 in 4 seconds, and the placement of an electric motor for each axel gives all the benefits of all-wheel drive. The fuel economy isn’t anything to laugh at either. A solid 30 miles per gallon gives a range of around 435 miles.
In the end, though, a sports car isn’t about the gas mileage, or a fancy seating arrangement. It’s about design, attitude, and power. Toyota, with little experience and no reputation for sports cars, has managed to deliver all three. Four and a half years after the Volta was unveiled at the Geneva Auto show, the competition is still markedly absent.
Unfortunately, so is the Volta. Toyota has give no indication that it intends to move the Volta into production any time soon, if ever. We can only hope that even if Toyota won’t ever build it, some auto maker will respond to the challenge Toyota has laid down as a new bench mark of what is possible, and introduce another sports car with the vision, innovation and attitudinal arrogance of the Volta.

Cadillac Provoq Concept

The Cadillac Provoq concept luxury crossover first showed up at the Consumer Electronics show in early January, 2008. It was billed as Cadillac’s vision of the future for luxury transportation, and a contention of GM’s commitment to ending vehicle dependence on petroleum.
The Cadillac Provoq concept is a hydrogen/electric hybrid, which combines a fifth-generation fuel cell (which is half the size of prior models) and a lithium-ion battery to drive the vehicle with no gasoline, and no emissions other then water.
This concept car has a range of 300 miles per fill of hydrogen, and can drive up to 20 miles on pure battery power. A pair of composite storage tanks sits beneath the trunk, and holds about 13 pounds of hydrogen, to feed the fuel cells under the hood. The battery pack can store a total of 9kWh of electricity, and provides up to 60 kW of power.
There are three electric motors, one for the front axel and one each for the rear wheels, providing all-wheel-drive, and amazing dynamics. According to Cadillac it has a 0-60 mph of 8.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 100 mph.
The Cadillac Provoq hydrogen was designed with classic Cadillac bodywork, and large passenger and cargo spaces. In what seems to a popular innovation in concept cars over the past few years, it includes solar panels to power accessories, though unlike most of the recent concept cars to include them, these power interior lights and audio rather than A/C and ventilation fans. Cadillac has also designed a unique motorized element to the front grill, allowing it to close at high speeds for better aerodynamics, and to open at low speeds, to improve cooling of the fuel cell.

2009 Nissan Skyline GT-R

Nissan’s Skyline GT-R has been one of the iconic cars of the late 20th century, marrying high technology with the ability to drive quicker than many exotic super cars. The GT-R was even christened ‘Godzilla’ in Australia when it demolished all competition in the Touring Car Championship during the early 1990’s.
But it has been four years since the last R34 Skyline GT-R ceased production, and obviously the wait for the new GT-R has been an excruciating one. But first there was the GT-R Proto, a concept unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. That car has been slowly developed into the GT-R we see in spy pictures today. So, what is so important in 2009 Nissan Skyline GTR that people are so interested in this future vehicle?
2009 Nissan Skyline GTRIn line with Nissan’s President and CEO Carlos Ghosn’s intentions, the car will simply be known as the GT-R, to distance it from the Skyline range. There was some controversy over what brand the car would fall under - Infinity dealers desperately wanted the car to be an Infinity GT-R, but it will officially be known as the Nissan GT-R.
The power plant is still a bit of a mystery. It is a V6 supposedly derived from the engine in the 350Z, displacing between 3.2 and 3.8 liters, with twin turbos. Power output is estimated to be in the 450-480 horsepower range with torque coming in at 370 ft-lb. With those sorts of figure a 0-60 mph time of less than four seconds is likely, so it comes as no surprise that when the test mules are out they are often accompanied by 480 horsepower Porsche 911 turbo chase vehicles. At the Nurburgring the mules were reportedly lapping in around the seven minute range, which is really blasting along.
There were initial rumors that 2009 Nissan Skyline GTR car would be powered by a V8, called the VK45DETT, but that’s unlikely due to the ease of getting enough power from a lighter V6.

2010 Audi A3 TDI diesel

2010 Audi A3 TDI is not just another car for pollution conscious people who love driving. It is highly efficient diesel small luxury car that provides over 40 mpg highway. This car is for people who do not want to compromise on luxury but still want to ride a fuel efficient car. For American drivers 2010 Audi TDI will be available with 2.0-liter TDI engine. Audi A3 is a very fine hatchback that is currently available with 2.0 liter turbo four and 3.2 liter V6 gas engines. Now with an option of diesel engine, this little hatchback is going to make some dent on the sales of Toyota Prius and Honda Insight.
In the times of recession people are going to be more conscious about what they buy. 2010 Audi TDI with their advantageous pricing, latest automotive technologies and fuel efficiency is certainly going to give them good value for a reasonable price.
2010 Audi A3 TDI 2.0 litre TDI engine is shared with the VW Jetta TDI. A3 5-door hatchback is Audi’s 2nd US. TDI clean diesel vehicle after Audi Q7 TDI.
Audi A3 TDI is coming with 2.0 TDI clean diesel engine with S tronic (dual clutch), front wheel drive which has 140hp, 236lb.ft. of torque, in-line 4 cylinder turbocharged clean diesel with common rail direct injection and piezoelectric injectors.

2099 Mercury Mariner Hybrid

Those who love their hybrid cars to stay in electric mode for a long period of time should check out the Mercury Mariner Hybrid. This vehicle remains in electric mode far longer than its competitors and also boasts of one of the sturdiest gas electric system that is available today. The body of this car combines ruggedness along with style. With the plethora of electronic sophistication punched with standard comforts this car provides its user with the best for their money. If the Ford Motor Company had marketed this car aggressively since it was launched in the late 2004, it would have provided them with the boost in the arm they so desperately need.
Most other SUV’s have a rugged sex appeal in them and it is often questioned if the Mercury mariner Hybrid too has the same or whether it is possible. If one looks at the pugilistic looks of the Mercury Mariner Hybrid, they will be reminded of the Escape. While this car is both muscular and square it also boasts features like accented grilles on its taillight along with gauges that are chrome rimmed. Though the Mariner is theoretically a crossover, it looks upright and solid like real SUV’s. The 2008 version will boast of a front-wheel drive unlike the 2007 model that had only all wheel drives. The main fun of using a hybrid vehicle comes from using all the available tools so that one can get the maximum mileage; hence instrumentation is vital to get the hybrid experience.
The ability of the Mercury Mariner Hybrid to remain in all-electric mode for long period of time is its plus point that helps it to beat the Toyota hands down. The Mercury mariner Hybrid offers its users an extended opportunity of using the gears, brake and gas pedals to manage energy out of the and into its rechargeable batteries. Try accelerating this vehicle to speeds of 30 miles per hour and then shift the shifter, which is not a gear, into low and see the fun. The shifter helps to perform a tighter engagement between the motor and the generator. So how long are you interested in remaining in electric (E.V.) mode? If you can use your footwork deftly to accelerate both slowly yet evenly, you might be able to nudge the Mercury Marine Hybrid to speeds up to 30 miles per hour.
And this is without using a bit of gas. If you somehow manage to slip out of the E.V. mode while you are at speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour, and accepting the fact that the battery of your vehicle is charged adequately, just tap the brake a couple of times. This will permit you to slip back the vehicle into E.V. mode. Though it might take you some time to perfect the juggling of your feet and learn the tricks required to get the optimum out of your Mercury Mariner Hybrid, you will always feel that you are in control of a technological marvel rather than a vehicle.

BMW 2010 5-Series

A full-hybrid system, featuring an electric motor in parallel with an engine, is not currently planned for the new 5-series, which instead is likely to feature the same system already used in the 1-series. This "light-hybrid" system consists of an electric starter motor that's connected to the crankshaft and can function as both a generator and a propulsion system, spinning the engine during initial off the line acceleration. The "light-hybrid" will be available in both diesel and petrol versions and expect a new V8 diesel engine to make its debut in the next-gen model. The "two-mode" hybrid transmission that was developed by BMW together with General Motors and DaimlerChrysler is mostly aimed at bigger vehicles such as trucks and SUVs. The design features dual motors, and an advanced control system that can allow both engines can be turned on simultaneously, and to regenerate electric power during braking.

This two-mode system, however, is not currently planned for the next generation 5-series, although BMW has not eliminated the possibility that a similar technology can be added towards the end of the model's life cycle. We'll have to make do with the "light hybrid" at the moment since BMW feels it has already succeeded in heavily reducing the fuel consumption of their engines. However, it remains to be seen whether or not BMW will be able to reach the EU's new requirements for average CO2 emissions of 130g/km by 2012.

2010 Ferrari F450

Ferrari has begun the development for the successor of their best seller compact mid-V8 supercar. Following a line of respectable ancestors, like the F355, 360 Modena or the currently in production F430, the new car is expected for not sooner than 2010. With a supposed displacement of 4.5 liters, the new Ferrari is expected to be named F450.
Spy photographers have caught in tests several mules that point clearly that a replacement for the F430 is in development al Maranello. Driving on the Fiorano race-track and disguised as F430 Challenge Stradale, the test cars show a medium development stage for the smallest Ferrari.

Early rumors pointed that the new car will be equipped with a V10 engine, in order to be successfully compete against the Lamborghini Gallardo. The changes made to Formula 1 regulations, that nowadays require the use of V8 engines, make this step irrational; therefore it is logical for Ferrari to stick with the traditional V8 configuration.

The main competitor, the child of the other Italian supercar producing house, the Lamborghini Gallardo uses a 5.0 liter originated from Audi. One might expect that Ferrari will improve their new comer displacement up to the same value in order to provide the same level of performance.

But, Ferrari is known to offer some of the best power per displacement ratios; therefore they are expected to produce 500 or more bhp, by only increasing the displacement to 4.5 liters. The rest of the power gain will be due to an increased maximum rev limit, of up to 10,000 rpm, improved air flowing and cooling.

Design lines will not be a revolution, but will be changed in order to keep up with the technical advances. All of the air intakes will be enlarged to ensure an increment in the cooling required by the improved engine and brakes. At the rear there is a possibility to see middle mounted exhausts, inspired by the Challenge Stradale.

Electric Blues

The story behind the General Motors EV1 electric vehicle is one of the gripping industry tales of the 20th century and not because it's the conspiracy some claim. The story actually starts with a strong Australian connection after GM blitzed the 1987 World Solar Challenge with its Sunraycer, aided by local Holden identities Ray Borrett and John Harvey. The event was used to create an interface between Californian energy company AeroVironment Inc and the new GM Hughes Electronics division with the rest of the corporation. It marked a brand new development stream that is now finding a footing as new market conditions force consumers to shift expectations.
By 1991, when GM's first Impact electric passenger car was a running prototype, the company had set up the USABC (United States Advanced Battery Consortium) after recognising that parallel technologies had to advance at the same rate. By the end of 1992, the corporation's ailing fortunes killed the program just as the Impact electric vehicle was to go into limited production.
After most of the Impact team were redeployed, just 100 engineers kept it alive offsite. By mid-1993 they had delivered a small batch of Impact early development cars to an enthusiastic technical press. Buoyed by the Impact's performance, practicality and engineering advances, the media encouraged GM to build 50 preview cars in 1994 for trials by everyday drivers. It was a huge learning curve, generating new data and feedback including, to everyone's surprise, how receptive the public was to the vehicle despite its limitations.
